Hi PPl,

I am thinking about a topic discussed aside on the workshop - I called it "role based interface" - this means instead of providing the different webinterfaces at the moment we just have one interface and build the menu structures dynamically based on the role of the logged in user.

There is ne major problem on this for me atm - the storage of the RBAC/ACL in the xml files is not very seekable from my point of view - I need "what functions can a person with role R use" - the only way to get this is to crawl to the whole XML tree and compare the role-entry with my data....

As we are currently moving a lot of stuff to the database - whats about moving the acl too ? I think we can build the XML Tree for the current acl implemenations from the database to keep backwards compatibility, but we enable a lot of fancy querys on the stuff....

As the whole management frontend for the roles is not really what I call perfect we dont loose to much work here....
