Hi,
I commited some minutes ago the migration stuff to UTF-8. The only remaining issue is the compilation of new mo-files. I didn't do this because surprisingly the most .po files are in UTF-8 format. So perhaps I made a mistake some time before.
cd src/common/lib/locale/pot; make
After this step all translations are rebuild and in UTF-8.
