yes, you will have to start the OpenCA daemon via openca_start. The CLI client then binds to the socket and communicates with the server. (Have a look at the test.pl script which automatically configures, compiles and installs the OpenCA system, starts the daemon and runs some non-interactive tests with it.)
cool, so i am back to my original problem of not being able to start the openca daemon !!!!! I have the "unblessed reference" problem.
I shall keep looking.
