I have got the CA up and running now (many thanks), a few problems with the RA looking at pending certificate requests, but I shall try and tackle them myself for a day or two ! I use SuSE too (7.3) but my webserver is configured for user wwwrun. Are you sure that your apache's user is nobody (/etc/httpd/httpd.conf)?
