First I'm using SuSE 7.1 too ;-D

Second you must install a RDBMS (I would recommend you postgresql),
create two databases (one for the CA and one for the RAServer),
configure them in the conf/DBI.conf of CA, RAServer and Public-GW. 

Perhaps the snapshots still ignore DBIS then you must download the
cvs-directory openca-dbis/ and then perl Makefile.PL;make;make install
(if you want to help me please do the same thing with openca-dbi/). If
you have such problems then you find the reason in
/var/log/httpd/error.log. If you have problems with DBI you can set in
conf/DBI.conf the switch DEBUG from 0 to 1 and then I have a chance to
say what's going wrong ...

Be warned the module has a lot of debugging output.
