Hello,

this is from the OpenCA INSTALL-0-8 Readme:

Note (not recommended):
If you have your own Root certificate which you would like to
use
instead of creating a new one you need to have it in DER and PEM
format. Copy the private key to
/usr/local/OpenCA/private/cakey.pem
(assuming you used the default directories). Copy the files
cacert.der
and cacert.pem to /usr/local/OpenCA/ and the file cacert.pem
into
/usr/local/OpenCA/stuff. Also copy your .pem file to
/opt/OpenCA/chain/cacert.crt and run a make in that directory.
Once you have done this you can skip generating the key, the
request and signing in the CA server initialization but you MUST
        still export the certificate.

Once you have initialized the CA server and exported the root
certificate you have
to initialize the RA server...

Regards,
Robert
