I think there's a note on this issue either in Apache FAQ or in OpenSSL FAQ.
You cannot use a passphrase protected keyfile with Apache 1.3.x, and I don't
know whether it is supported in Apache 2.x. Even if it is, you would have to
supply the passphrase in a config file as cleartext, which would make the use of
the passphrase pointless.
