I don't understand what you are doing. OpenCA generates certificates
with OpenSSL and use PEM by default. There are two scripts for
downloading certificates. The first script getcert is used to download
certificates for users who waits for their own certificate. The second
script send_email_cert is for normal users which need the certificate of
another person.

Our OpenCA::X509 module cannot only load certificates. It also converts
the certificate into the different formats.
