Michael, any ideas ? For your information I am running 0.9.0 RC2.

I was wondering if it has anything to do with the case of the "o" attribute as 
OpenCA seems to always writes the attributes names in upper case. I have been 
playing around and changing the case of the O, OU and C and the case of the 
values. Of course, I can not get the CA to sign certs where the attributes 
are of a different case to the case in the CA cert...

Am I barking up the wrong tree ?

I have completely deleted the directory and started again a couple of times 
now with different cases and have managed to stop the RA writing the CA Cert 
to the directory, is that success ?
