I don't think you need to send Michael the mail if you send it to the list,
because he'll see the list mail anyway.

openldap is the LDAP server
Net-LDAP is the Perl module named NET::LDAP which provides a Perl interface
to access the LDAP server.
You can install Net::LDAP by installing the correct rpm (on SuSE 8.1, it is
named perl-ldap), or by using CPAN to download and install the Perl module.
