This error went away when I removed the --enable-package-build option to ./configure. However, I'm still not able to sign the request when approving it. I still have to approve it without signing it.
I know but my time is strongly limited today.
I think you use Netscape or Mozilla. Both programs give you only a notice if the certificate already exists or something failed. If the certificate is downloaded for the first time then you get nothing if the download succeeds. You can only look into your certstore to check the existence of the certificate. There also seems to be an issue on the "pub" interface when attempting to download the valid certificate. The screen for "Get Requested Certificate" comes up with the Serial Number to put in and the Type of Serial Number, but when I put in the correct information and click the Continue button, the page loads for about a second and then the status bar in the browser says "Done.", but the page does not change and nothing pops up to let me download the certificate or anything like that. Does this mean my browser is already acquainted with the generated certificate (since all interfaces are on the same machine and being used by the same browser)?
It is a really old problem of Netscape :(
