michael,1. OpenCA doesn't use stored procedure. So I don't understand how you want to use them to speed up OpenCA.
does openca supports stored procedure. we so far make use of mysql backend for openca. But it seems mysql doesn't have support for stored procedure in its 3.x series. just curious to know, whether stored procedure support will provide any faster transaction. Since we want to try openca in our production environment.
2. The biggest performance problem of OpenCA is the use of OpenSSL via the commandline. Therefore we start testing a new module which uses the cryptolib of OpenSSL directly to parse crypto-objects. This is much faster then using the OpenSSL commandline tools. So the problem of OpenCA is normally not the DB-backend. It is our OpenSSL usage which is not state-of-the-art.
