Guys,

I have finally got round to doing some volume testing of OpenCA. I thought I
would share some of the results with you and ask for help on one problem.

I used the batch processes on the CA to generate 10,000 certificate requests,
automatically approved them all and then created the certificates (this last
part took the best part of 10 hours on the small test machine I am using !).

I am happy as I can view each of the certificates on the CA so it is all
looking good.

My problem is when I try to export the certificates to the RA (using the data
exchange enroll to a lower level) the screen displays the "Exporting all
certificates..." message for about 5 minutes and then "Exporting valid
CERTIFICATE..." and then stops. I check the processes on the box and the
"node" script is not doing anything.

I have checked the "..openca//var/log/enroll" directory and the correct file
is there "3_VALID_CERTIFICATE.log" and it only has the numbers of the first 5
certificates. I thought that it may be timing out so I created a new
populated file and deleted a few numbers from it, but the same thing happens.

I know this test is a little bit artificial as certificate volumes would grow
incrementally and so I doubt if I would have this problem in production, but
any ideas ?

Chris...
