We're hoping to build OpenCA into our ISCS project
(http://iscs.sourceforge.net) but I'm having a nightmare of a time
trying to install the OpenCA-0.9.1 RedHat RPMs on my Redhat 8.0 system.
I'm sure it's not supposed to be this hard so it must be something I'm
doing wrong.
When we installed 0.8, we did it from source. We thought we'd save
ourselves a little time this time and try the RPMs for 0.9.1. The
dependencies are proving a nightmare. Many of the perl modules are not
readily available as RedHat RPMs. I downloaded all the perl RPMs in the
RedHat and other directories on the OpenCA site. The perl modules are
complaining about dependencies such as perl-Digest-MD5 (which I think
was folded into perl-5.8x and is not longer a separate RPM). Every time
I track down another RPM named as a dependency, I open up dependency
hell with it asking for another dependency. Some of these seem to
conflict.
Should I just go back to source? What am I doing wrong?!!! Thanks, all
