Hi Barbara,

first of all you can use "make --version" to get an idea what do you use for a make. Second you use FreeBSD. FreeBSD has an own make which is not identical with GNU make. OpenCA only supports GNU make. So please install GNU make and specify the GNU make during configure.

MAKE=/usr/local/bin/make ./configure --your-options

Allways use GNU make. We know that our Makefile doesn't work with FreeBSDs make.
