I tried to import it to ra_node too and received the message:

How is the process to sign the sub-CA certificate?
Thanks!

This is a bit of a faff, but you:

create your sub ca csr and export it, from the CA init screens.

Then go to your exchange file and untar it (tar -xvf NAME.tar)

you will see a file careq.crt (or careq.pem I can't remember)

You need to then use a browser to go to the root ca, ra public screens and
request a "server certificate" upload the careq.crt file.

Do the normal stuff to process the request in the root ra and ca.

Then grab the certificate file from the CA ../openca/var/crypto/certs/

Then you need to call it cacert.crt (or pem) tar it back up again and put it
in where your CA expects to find the exchange file.

Go back to the CA initalise screens and import the cert, rebild the chain and
there you are.

Hope this helps.

Chris...
