I've compiled openCA 0.9.1-3 and installed it (make install-ca and then
make install-ra). OpenCA prefix is set to /usr/local/openca. However in
its etc subdirectory I don't see config.xml.

CVS_DATA01# pwd
/usr/local/openca/etc
CVS_DATA01# ls
database openssl rbac servers
CVS_DATA01#

I have pdf doc for 0.9.2+ version. Is there a pdf doc for 0.9.1 version
? Does 0.9.1.x use a different configuration process ?

There is a small 0.9.1 PDF documentation at docs/OpenCA-guide.pdf. This guide cannot be longer maintained by us because we don't have the sources in the CVS to avoid version conflicts. This was a big mistake. We are learning by doing too :( The new guide is fully vailable via CVS. I know that this doesn't help you much, I'm sorry.

The installation and configuration process is completely different between 0.9.1 and 0.9.2. We have to seperate the installation from the configuration to allow distributors like Debian, OpenBSD and SuSE etc. to create usable packages. 0.9.1 will be completely configured with ./configure. 0.9.2 will be installed with the options of ./configure and semantically configured by config.xml and configure_etc.sh.

When is 0.9.2 version ready ? I urgently need to work on a stable
version.

There is no exact date available. 0.9.2 RC2 will be our present for christmas. 0.9.2 RC1 has a small bug at the RA/CA interface if you try to install a certificate with an IE.

PS : you may put a link to documentation area on the front page of the
website, instead of accessing it through "news".

If you go to the PKI development area then there is a direct link to the documentation. In fact our pages are a little bit confusing. If somebody has an idea for a better organization then please make your proposals - programmers are usually bad designers :( Max, perhaps we should make the doc link bold too (like downloads and mirrors).
