BTW, I made a grep for "Import configuration" in the entire source tree, but the only match is on some CA stuff. Is the procedure for initializing the RA still the same as the manual says?
Which documentation do you use? The one for OpenCA 0.9.1 or 0.9.2? I checked the documentation for 0.9.2 and see that the initialization of other nodes than the CA is not documented :( I will fix it tomorrow. Short version, go to the node interface, initialization, init database and import configuration.

I used 0.9.2, and some emails. Seems like i've used a mix of both. :)
In the end, I realized what to do. After some other problems, all seems OK now. Apart from LDAP, which I am looking at now in some other emails :).
