do you know the last working release? I only test 0.9.2 batch system in the last weeks because we (my university) decided to fully migrate to the new system (better performance and better to customize).

I am happy on 0.9.1-7 for this project. I shall be testing 0.9.2 soon
but I am not going to use it in production just yet ;-)

If you know a working version then we can use diff on the complete release to find the problems.

The release I did the volume tests on (10,000 certs issued) was 0.9.1-1.
Since then you have modded bpIssueCertificate and PKCS7.pm (in v0.9.1-4)
because we found the problem with CA Chains and signing.

I have pinned the problem (I think) down to the openssl call, I can see
"openssl ca ..." in ps but I do not know what is causing openssl to
hang, could it be something to do with passing the CA password ?

Do you use different OpenSSL versions or do you use identical OpenSSL versions?
