hmm - but what i don't understand - in the Changelog is written: The OID for unique identifiers in X509 certificates is x500UniqueIdentifier, not uniqueIdentifier.
but in the objects.txt its written uniqueIdentifier instead of x500UniqueIdentifier?
shouldn't this be x500UniqueIdentifier then?
The Changelog has nothing to do with the standards. x500uniqueIdentifier is a second standard like emailAddress and mail which are different OIDs. Nevertheless UID is clearly defined as uniqueIdentifier and has nothing to do with x500uniqueIdentifier.
1. The standards define which OID has which name and short name. 2. The standards define the semantics (the usage).
The problem is that this was a little bit mixed in OpenSSL 0.9.6.
