I'd rather say you are pretty fortunate that you *don't* have IE... :-)

Google presented me several threads about the same problem, in these
cases clicking a simple download hyperlink produced the same error.
There was an idea to delete the "Temporary Internet Files" but this
did not work for me.
I still have no clue about this problem.

The code looks good to me. There is a minor flaw in lib/cmds/sendcert,
I think, the MIME type is set to application/binary, where it should
better be application/octet-stream. I changed this temporarily, but
this was not the cause of the problem.

The solution might be really simple, as IE is undoubtedly capable
of downloading a simple binary file. I guess I will have to switch
off HTTPS and use a protocol sniffer to find out what's going on
here.
