Hi Damon,
Hi all, I haven't been following the list for a while. (also, that geocrawler link to the openca mailing list archives is broken)
Seems that Geocraler is not working very well recently... Hae a look at the SF Lists
I seem to remember that it was difficult and unstable to upgrade from one version of openca to a later one. Is this true?From my testing, it seemed that the way to do it was to install a newversion of openca, go through the setup procedure, then replace the newly generated cert with the existing CA cert, and do a data recovery from a backup of the old install.
Can anyone tell me if this will work from 0.9.2-rc6 to 0.9.2.1?
Definitly - it *should* even work if you install the new release over the old one, but than you have to beat arround with the conifg's because some new Keys were introduced and there is - unfortunately - no other way as do some try and error and diff'ing old and new configs to not forget an important option...
If you have not done to much changes to the code I suggest:
- Backup :=)
- Move your old openca directory
- Create a fresh install
- copy over the whole openca/var/ tree
- edit your config.xml and if needed the other config files, the RBAC Stuff and the server-confs should remain the same, might be taht there is one or two new entries, but the old ones will work definitily
You can reuse your old database and MUST NOT do a restore (this will only create some files in the var which we have already copy...)
HTH
