To share information between users in a secret and secure way.
Imagine storing information, that where not sent by Email. Or handing a CD to another guy or whatever.

Hmm, I dont use such software - you can take the openca-* tools in the bin directory that give you an easy interface to encrypt/decrypt files, I think it sould be not to complicated to create some shell scripts around or even a nice GUI.
