Hello, some one use a smart-card to generate private key with XP?
Yes, I have used many different smart cards and usb tokens to generate private keys in XP using OpenCA backend.
What type can I buy? Is it good to use by pgina for logon ? And in an Active Directory??
There are so many on the market, i can not list them all. I have used Activcard, Unicard, G&D, Utimaco, iKey to name a few !
If you look at www.openca.info and look at the presentation from the workshop you will see a good document covering using openCA certificates for smart card logon using the native XP smart card login. Persoanlly I would go the route you have sugested and use something like the Activcard GINA replacement and a standard OpenCA certificate on a smart card.
