Hi,

I need a certificate to sign a webstart application.

However, when I sign my jarfile with a certificate from our CA,
webstart does not start the application but fails with error message:

"Warning: Failed to verify the authenticity of this certificate because there was an error parsing the certificate. No assertions can be made of the origin or validity of the code.

Installing and running this code is not allowed."

I verified the jarfile signature and made sure that the files therein are signed only once and only with this certificate.

I also imported the CA certificate into my webstart preferences.

What is wrong with the certificate? So far I tried a cert with role "user", is that sufficient?. Are there any addons to openca I miss?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks&Regards,
Elke Krumrueck
