Hi there,
the last days I walked (several times) through an installation tutorial
on openCA to get the basic service running and then afterwards trying to
set it up for LDAP as well. I succeed with a tutorial
(http://www.howto-it.de/content/view/16/26/) for my Ubuntu with openCA
0.9.2.2 (release) but had some problems to get LDAP running. I will try
to get this working with one of the snapshots and maybe come back for
questions on LDAP later.
However, I just wanted to notice that I´m getting the following error on
openCA 0.9.2.4 (release) while trying to start it with the proper init.d
script.
sh-3.00# /etc/init.d/openca-server stop
Stopping XML cache... /etc/init.d/openca-server: line 39: kill: (7210) -

done.
I´m aware that the specific tutorial I used was written for an openCA
0.9.2.2 and therefore I´ve tried the installation for the 0.9.2.4 with
and without the 30_bigint_serial_functions patch for debianish
distributions - both failed on startup with the error above.
System is Ubuntu 5.10 with openSSL 0.9.7g and the following packages
that are required by openCA:
libxml-perl -> 0.0.8-1
libxml-regexp-perl -> 0.0.3-7
libdbi-perl -> 1.48-1
perl -> 5.8.7-5
perl-modules -> 5.8.7-5
libldap2 -> 2.1.30-12
libnet-ldap-perl -> 0.3202-3
libdbd-mysql -> 2.9007-1
libdbd-mysql-perl -> 1.48-1
Regards,
Maximilian Schmidt
