I don't know if it is the right way, but it should work : In the configuration file "servers/ca.conf.template", set these two values : SET_REQUEST_SERIAL_IN_DN "N" SET_CERTIFICATE_SERIAL_IN_DN "N" Then, don't forget to run configure_etc.sh !
