Hi,

in brief, if you installed the ocspd in /usr/local/sbin/ocspd then do like
this (as root):

        # /usr/local/sbin/ocspd -v -c /usr/local/etc/ocspd/ocspd.conf

does it print out anything ? If it exits, try to look at the log files:

        # tail -f /var/log/messages

There should be informations about the cause of the errors so that you can
fix them...

You have to look at the end of the file where the last messages are
stored...

Yes, the chain_cert is just a list of certificates that will be added to the
response in order for the client to be able to verify the response up to a
CA cert (usually the top-level CA which uses a self-signed cert).

What kind of resource ? If you need the RFC, the number is 2560. You can find it
on the http://www.ietf.org website or one of the mirrors.
