You should have a look at the guide, which is very comprehensive:

It's a good idea to go through the document, as many things are explained...

For the dataexchange, again look into the documentation - I have a setup
working with ca - ra - pub on different servers, which are transferring
files via scp. Should anyone have a need for the configs, let me know...
