Hi,
I was reading through the ocspd.conf trying to setup an OCSP responder and I
am now puzzled about if or how the "db" entry within the OCSPD_default
section is used? At first, I though it was the index.txt from the CA, but
it appears that OCSP can support muliple CA's through the CA/CRL entries.
So, I tried modifying the index.txt file manually (removing
entries), restart ocspd and the certificates in question come back as good
(rather than unknown).
So I decided to try and find out what index.txt was used for. I removed the
file completely, restart OCSPD and OCSPD was still able to respond to
queries. I had a quick look through the source code, but I could not find
anything related to "db".
Is the "db" entry within the ocspd.conf no longer used? If so, for what?
Can I safely remove it?
