Hi,

this error seems to me to be related to the chain of certificates you have
to a trust anchor (root CA). Please check if:

- you have all the needed CA certificates in your installation, check the
  OPENCA/var/crypto/chain/ directory and add the missing pieces (if any)

- run the "Rebuild Chain" so that the chain of certs is build and the
  verify command is more happy with your cert chain

Let me know if this fixes your problem...
