Hi Samuel,

I think that the error is related to the fact you have no RPM system
installed. If you install the rpm software on your system you will
not get that error anymore.

To run OpenCA, you need other packages as well:
- perl 5.8.5+
- MySQL
- Apache
- OpenSSL
- OpenLDAP (at least the client libs)

The binary version of OpenCA will install the software in /opt/openca
and also it will install an ECDSA-enabled version of openssl in
/opt/openca-openssl.

To start/stop openca you just need to execute /opt/openca/etc/init.d/openca
or /etc/init.d/openca (the startup script should be there as well after
the installation, if not, you can create a symlink or simply copy the
file).

To configure the system, you should also edit the
/opt/openca/etc/openca/config.xml
file. That is the principal one for the options common to all of the pki
interfaces.

Other important files (all in the etc dir - eg. /opt/openca/etc/openca/ ) are:

- loa.xml : to configure the level of assurances (LOA) and their properties

- browser_req.xml/auth_browser_req.xml: to configure the options for the
  browser request forms

- agreements/ : this directory contains the agreements related to each LOA

- servers/ : this directory contains the specific configuration files for the
interfaces. For example the ca.conf has the configuration options that are
for the ca web interface, whilst the ra.conf has the options for the RA
  interface.

I hope this would solve the problem. I am not an expert with CentOS, so to
develop the binary package for it I set it up by using the normal graphical
interface. I had no problems in installing it - but, when you manage to
install it, please, let us know which where your problems and how you fixed
them - we can add that information to the WiKi so that other people can
benefit from your experience :D

Later,
Max

Hello.

I'm testing OpenCA ten-ten in CentOS 5.2.
I got OpenCA to CentOS 4.7.
so I executed, then show this error:

Could not find valid RPM application:
RPM-building tools are not available on the system

I installed this CentOS. It is new, no packages, only text mode.
What package I have that install?
