Dear all,

I managed to install openCA and configure openCA and Apache correctly. Now, I run this command to start openCA:
root@mohammad-OptiPlex-760:/usr/local/openca/etc/openca# ./openca_start

Next, I try to go to this address to see the interface:
http://localhost/ca

However, it redirects to this link:

and shows me:

Not Found

The requested URL /cgi-bin/pki/ca/ca was not found on this server.

Apache/2.2.20 (Ubuntu) Server at localhost Port 80

It seems that the request cannot be resolved, or maybe there is a problem in addressing. Any idea how to solve it?

Hi,

Thanks for the comments. I have already configured Apache and now it is up and running.

I have still a small problem regarding CA configuration. I have done with all the configurations and now it's the time to start openca. I tried to run it as follows:

root@mohammad-OptiPlex-760:/usr/local/openca/ca/etc# $OPENCA_HOME ./configure_etc.sh

It is perfectly done without any error. However, when it comes to start openca, I have to run it based on the following commands: (first make a copy and then start it from: /etc/init.d/openca_rc start)

root@mohammad-OptiPlex-760:/usr/local/openca/ca/etc# cp $OPENCA_HOME/openca_rc /etc/init.d/
cp: cannot stat `/openca_rc': No such file or directory

I tried to find "openca_rc" using "locate openca_rc" while there is no file on my system with this name. I am a bit confused. Is "openca_rc" the name of openCA service that I have to run? Any idea how shall I start it?

Hi!!

1. Did you already set up apache?
2. If you want to customize  OpenCA, the source path is:  PREFIX/lib.
If you want to customize the look and feel you need to go to: PREFIX/www/html/pki/

Dear all,

I managed to install OpenCA on Ubuntu 11.10 and now, I'm trying to configure the configuration files. I have followed the OpenCA Installation guide:
http://wiki.openca.org/wiki/index.php/Installing_OpenCA

and I have successfully done all the steps, stated in this guide. I have changed the configuration files in "PREFIX/etc/openca/servers/" as well as "PREFIX/etc/openca/openssl/extfiles/"; I didn't do a lot of changes, though. (It seems that everything matches to my requirements, I have just changed some small parts in the configuration files) I think since I have configured the source code with these parameters, there is no need to perform many changes there:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/openca --with-openca-tools-prefix=/usr/local/openca  --with-ca-organization="KTH-LCN" --with-httpd-fs-prefix=/var/www --with-httpd-main-dir=pki --with-db-name=openca_db --with-db-host=localhost --with-db-user=openca --with-db-password=admin --with-db-type=mysql --with-service-mail-account="khod...@kth.se"

Now, I want to continue to access the web interface and set up CA, RA and other stuff. I've got some questions.

1) How can I access to the web-interface to configure and add Certificate, manage CRL, Revocation Request and so forth. Shall I configure a specific file to access it? I didn't find anything there.

2) After all these steps, I shall work on the source code of openCA to customize it towards my requirements and goal. I explored the entire files within "openca-base-1.1.1" folder. As far as I understood, it seems that the entire folder contains more configuration files rather than C/C++ files. I am looking for the source code of openCA PKI to read and add some more stuff. Shall I look for it somewhere else? Or, other libraries?

Please let me know your ideas and suggestions.

Thanks a lot
