take a look at config.xml , there is a line about sendmail , after changing something dont forget to run ./configure_etc.sh

the email is a verify email , once you request a new certificate it is stored as TEMPNEW , a mail is sent to requester's email (2. E-Mail Address field in certificate request form?) , after you click the link in the email you will change the "TEMPNEW" status from the database and then you will be able to see your request at new requests as CA or RA.

Your requests should be marked as ARCHIVED when they are issued , so this is why you see them under Valid Certificate section.

I don't know what happens if a delivery fails :( , im trying to work on that part now days.

Hi,

I do have postfix installed. How openca send notify email? through SMTP or just call sendmail to deliver?

I got more questions about this:

first, who will notify mail send to?
1. support_mail_address or service_mail_account in config.xml
2. E-Mail Address field in certificate request form?

second, Do you mean new request will stored in request table with status marked as 'TEMPNEW'? My requests now marked as 'ARCHIVED' and appeared in 'Valid certificate' section. Are those certificates good to use now?

third, If mail notify for new request failed to deliver for some reason, is there a way to send it again?

Thank you very much for your reply.

Vincent

    take a look here on how to setup sendmail with gmail

    you will need sendmail, sendmail-cf, cyrus-sasl , cyrus-sasl-plain

    Dear all,

    I just got OpenCA 1.5.1 installed on CentOS 6.4. I can use the
    following URL to request certificate
    https://<my
    server>/cgi-bin/pki/pub/pki?cmd=getStaticPage&name=homePage
    <https://pki.amjet.biz/cgi-bin/pki/pub/pki?cmd=getStaticPage&name=homePage>

    But I can't see certificate request when I login to CA URL listed
    below
    https://<my
    server>/cgi-bin/pki/ca/ca?cmd=getStaticPage&name=homePage
    <https://pki.amjet.biz/cgi-bin/pki/ca/ca?cmd=getStaticPage&name=homePage>
    Using menu, CA opeeration -> Certification requests -> (New or
    Pending), show empty request list.

    But I found a trick to sign certificate request, using menu, PKI
    init & config -> Initialization -> CA administrator -> issue the
    certificate, I can sign the latest request here.

    What could be wrong in my installation?

    Any help would be appreciated.
