I think you have:

        1 - An outdated version of openssl ( 0.9.4 with patches is needed);

Which version are you using of OpenCA ??? If you are using the 0.2.0 you
need openssl-0.9.4 then apply the patches you find in the openca/misc/
dir and it should be fixed.

New openssl versions have integrated our patch modifying it a bit so it is
better using the patches over the 0.9.4 openssl version instead of using
the new versions.

For the new release of OpenCA you'll need to upgrade to openssl 0.9.6 (or
0.9.7 as them have only now added some code I sent adding new ca features)
without having to patch it.
