I have to start to develop with Java and SmartCards (microprocessor asynchronous T=0). I need to access smartcard chip through the navigator. I have downloaded the Java Communications API (javax.comm) and have started to test. I have seen about OpenCard and have read about. My sc readers are PC/SC compliant but my doubt is that if I use OpenCard, what do I have to install in any client? Opencard library and PC/SC drivers. If I use Java Comm API I just have to install "win32com.dll" in each client to be able to execute my Java PlugIn. I am not trying to start a discussion about Java API vs. Opencard. I know that using Opnecard I will be standarised with all advantages it gives but this advantage is going to cost a lot in performance and requeriments in client machine? I mean, I am not asking about technical aspects of opencard but about the way I will execute the applets to access through the navigator to smartcards. -- Miguel Cabrer --- > Visit the OpenCard web site at http://www.opencard.org/ for more > information on OpenCard---binaries, source code, documents. > This list is being archived at http://www.opencard.org/archive/opencard/ !
