The Pcsc10CardTerminal.java file does this:

      cardHandle = pcsc.SCardConnect(context,
                                     getName(),
                   Pcsc10Constants.SCARD_SHARE_EXCLUSIVE,
                   Pcsc10Constants.SCARD_PROTOCOL_T0 |
Pcsc10Constants.SCARD_PROTOCOL_T1,
                   returnedProtocol);

It is requesting both.  It is a known bug (you can check the schlumberger
discussion groups about it) that the Reflex 72 drivers do not handle this
properly.  Unless the card itself will support both T=0 and T=1 protocols,
the driver will not connect.  Are you using a card that supports both?  I'm
not, I'm using an Cyberflex Access card.
