I have been given the task of investigating the feasibility of producing a
Smart Card aware Java applet to run in a browser. The Applet need only read
the ATR of a card using OpenCard. I have been struggling over the last few
days, as I am unfamiliar with both Java and the requirements of archiving
and then signing an applet to gain the correct privileges.
I have searched high and low for sample code that will perform the task, but
to no avail. I have tried to use both JDK1.2.2 and JDK1.1.8. I have also
resorted to packing all the opencard jar files into the same archive as my
test applet, to ensure that it picks up the correct imports ( now I know
there must be a better way ).
Does anyone have any sample code that will produce an applet that will read
and display the ATR from a SmartCard? If so could you please send it to me,
failing that can anyone give my any pointers.
