Hi, Sudarshan.
I have understood OCF with Pure Java terminals as three major layers. On the
bottom is the serial communication, provided by javacomm. Above it, you can find
the terminal drivers (without which you have to know escape codes, control
characters, etc., really being an expert in serial communications) that are
provided by card reader manufacturers. On the top, you must have the card
drivers, that are usually provided by the card manufacturers (without which you
be an expert in ISO 7816, T=0, APDUs, etc., like I almost did for GPK). Well,
above all that you put your application. Note that changing the 2nd layer you
can change your readers, changing the 3rd you can change your card.
In fact, I have done little more than play with the demos that came with OCF,
because another project with a higher priority took my attention away. My next
steps are to try to generate keys inside my card, generate a CSR (PKCS#10), send
it to an in-hose CA and store the certificate in a file inside the card. If I
manage to do that in a month I will be glad.
Sorry, I don't know this jc211. If you are talking about JCE (Java Cryptography
Extensions) 2.1.1, I have downloaded it but not used.
Anything else I can help, please feel free to ask.
Regards,
Douglas

Subject: RE: [OCF] which dll....?
Douglas, Thank you very much.
Even, I had chosen pure Java terminal during OCF installation. But wondered
about communication with, say for example Reflex 70 reader from
Schlumberger, etc. I was earlier exploring to use Cryptoflex from
Schlumberger and heard from their support team that their toolkit might have
problems running with my GCR410 terminal.
Douglas, I had one more question.
Have you been using any toolkit ? I am using jc211 and my converter tool is
not working properly. When used, complains that framework.exp file was not
found and exits, whereas the file is very much present when installed.
Best Regards,
Sudarshan R.
