[OCF] Why so many framework or industrial standard?

     Hi,
     
     When I need integration of card and reader in my application,I find so 
     many existing Frameworks/API such as OpenCard,PC/SC,TLP Drvier and 
     basic API like G+ API-4.31.
     My application is a java-based network system and mainly run in 
     Windows platform(sometime in UNIX).Could any specialist give me a 
     suggestion on reader integration?
