This is strange. In the first OCF 1.2 releases, the included jar
file was not working because it was an older version (for OCF1.1!).
I should try to get a distrib to see if it's still like this. With
the OCF1.2/lib jar file, I had a set of error messages of this type:
} [CRITICAL ] Reader initialization failed.
and then:
} CardTerminalException:
} opencard.core.terminal.CardTerminalException: No reader found!
as with the gemplus-terminals-4.1.jar it works perfectly (I'm
using Linux with the blackdown 1.2.2 JDK).

Could you try to raise the trace to see what happen before
and send me the results ? I have no GCI410 to test with but
we should have the same behavior on our two GemPC410!

This does not depend on the type of Linux JDK you are using
(Blackdown, Sun/Borland, or IBM) but on the implementation of
the Comm API. I know only of two of them: the one from RXTX
people (http://www.rxtx.org/) or the one that comes with IBM's JDK.
The Comm API from IBM is actually using COM1/COM2 denomination
instead of the classical /dev/ttySx. This was already reported
to IBM on their alphaworks forum as this causes problems with
some applications. In OpenCard, you can just leave the COMx
name in your properties file and just switch to /dev/ttySx
if you happend to switch to RXTX, this is not a problem.

GemPC410 is the new name for GCR410. In version 4.1 of the
CardTerminal, both three reader types are available to use:
GemPC410, GCR410, and GCI410.
Hope it'll help.
Cheers,
Christophe.
