Can anyone tell me how to do a REALLY simple thing?
I am writting a java based application that requires ONLY the PKI
funcationality of a smartcard, i.e. I only want to digitally sign a
document and decrypt a document using JAVA, the RSA algorithm and a
smartcard. I have two types of cards, a GemXpresso 211PKis card, and a
GPK8000 card and according to Gemplus these won't do what I want. Can I
even do this with ANY GEMPLUS product? My head is just spinning from
talking with the Gemplus people telling me I can't do it with GemSafe I need
GemXpresso but now that I have it they say I can't do it without building
the functionality myself or waiting until the Xpresso card has an applet
that makes it look like a GPK8000 card but that just brings me back to
square one.
Has anyone just use Java and a Gemplus smart card to just perform digital
signatures or decryption?
With that said, does anyone have a better suggestion for a smart card to use
with Java?
