If I understand the operation of the GemCore chipset correctly, you can
send it T=1 formatted commands, and it will automatically convert them
into the correct sequences to interact with T=0 cards if required.

This is from my own experience, writing a non-OCF driver for the
reader. At any rate, I don't think you should have a problem talking to
T=0 cards using the existing OCF drivers and a Gemplus reader.
