As far as I know (I'm not a specialist in the 211 kits, which I
don't use, nor in the C libraries), the GPR400 reader is a "PCMCIA"
type of reader. So it's not possible to get a "pure-java" driver
(i.e., CardTerminal in the OCF vocabulary) like for serial based
readers (GemPC410 etc.) because there is no standard Java API
for accessing PCMCIA cards (for serial ports, there is the
javax.comm API which allows to write pure Java drivers on top of it).
As a consequence, you can *still* use OCF to access your cards,
*but* you need to have a Java/C connection at some point (using JNI).

For GPR400, we actually suggest to use the PC/SC wrapper CardTerminal
that is included into the standard OCF 1.2 distribution, it will
take in charge the calls to C libraries (i.e., the PC/SC drivers
for this reader).

Also, I have posted a message on the OCF mailing-list last december
with a ZIP file containing a new version, developed at Gemplus R&D
Montreal, of this driver. The URL of my saved message is:

        http://www.opencard.org/archive/opencard/1768.html

You will find the sources and a ready-to-use JAR file in
the "newpcsc.zip" attachement link.

Hope it'll help.

Cheers,
Christophe.
