Howdy.

Do you have any applications that run properly with your cards?

try to comment out all but the open and close, and then slowly uncomment 
more and more code and see at what point the error occurs.

I.e. comment out line 68 to 127, and if that works, try to add lines 68 
through 71, then add 72-76, then 80-87, etc, etc...

See at what point your magic error occurs.  Maybe someone from GemPlus can 
comment on what that error code means exactly?
