I've seen very little activity with OCF in the Linux community. I think
there are few reasons for this :
1. Antipathy towards Java. Just mention Java on slashdot to get a thousand
comp. sci. undergrads flaming you, saying how Perl is much better as they
can do all thier assignments with one line of code.
2. Lack of of implementations of javax.serial. I know there are a few, but
all the ones I've tried never worked with the driver Sun created for the
SmartMouse, as it used a callback to notify of card insertion, which they
didn't implement (even though it is part of the javax.serial spec).
3. The MUSCLE movement is progressing quietly.
4. Until recently, a decent VM for Linux.

Subject: [OCF] OCF Market Adoption data
Hi,
I'm trying to find some market adoption data for OCF to determine
what platforms are supporting OCF. I've looked on the website but I
couldn't really find any hard information. Anyone have any insight on
this issue? Any ideas what the Linux community is doing WRT OCF? I
know that they are into PC/SC (the Metal project), but I don't know
if there is a parallel effort going on with OCF on Linux.
thanks,
mike

It said "requires Windows 95 or better" so I installed Linux.
