G&D and Gemplus have a pure java CardTerminal. Also the iButton
reader has a pure java CardTerminal I think. IBM provides a pure
java driver for a Siemens reader. etc. etc. there might be others..
You'll have to go to the supported devices page:

        http://www.opencard.org/index-devices.shtml

and look, device by device, which ones are supported by pure-java
and which ones by PC/SC wrapper. I'd guess that at least half in the
list are supported by pure-java drivers.

For the Towitoko readers, there is no official pure-java CardTerminal
(to my knowledge) but Tom McKearney has modified the G&D driver to
work with Towitoko. It is unsupported. See:

        http://www.mckearney.com/OCF/Towitoko.shtml

Yes, but be aware of a problem when using long APDUs (case4) in some
of the CardServices features. A solution to this problem is to upgrade
to the beta version I have posted on the mailing-list:

        http://www.opencard.org/archive/opencard/1768.html

(see the attached zip file). Then, with this version of the wrapper,
there should be no problem. (at the condition of having a proper
PC/SC driver for the card reader you use of course).
