Hi all,
I know this is slightly OT but someone here must know the answer, and
when I solve the problem, I'll be able to get on with our OCF
development!
The problem is I can't get my Schlumberger Reflex 20 PCMCIA card reader
to work with Windows 95 or Windows 98. Upgrading OS is not an option (it
would not be an option for many of our users).
The driver from SLB is supposed to work on Win9x, however I have tried on
2 machines and I just cannot get it to work. Windows "smart card resource
manager" (yuck) won't "see" the reader.
So OCF is not the problem Windows smart card "resource manager" cannot
even talk to the reader it says "No driver is available". SLB's "Raw"
test application works fine though.
At one point I did have it working (The resource manager test program),
and then OCF was detecting card insertions using the PCSC wrapper, but
returning 80100066 (Card unresponsive). However, ever since reboot on
those windows machines, Windows doesn't even see the reader driver any
more.
Anybody have any idea what the hell is going on? PnP disaster? I don't
think so, because Device Manager shows a Smart Card Reader node, and a
Reflex 20 node under it so it knows about the reader. It's just the
crappy MS SmartCard libs that aren't noticing it.
I tell you something, I'm going to recommend pure java solutions only
wherever I can. There's no pure Java driver for PCMCIA readers though is
there? Are there any pure java drivers for USB readers?
We're all running out of serial ports ;-(
Cheers
