Hi All, Following is an early OC post that I addressed only to Alain by mistake: >> >Do we create a mac-specific version of OpenCard, or do we try >to develop something that is inherently multi-platform ? Presumably, we are most familiar with the Mac platform; so that would be the easiest. Since we'er working to further mass empowerment, Wintel is our largest potential platform. However, I see a second aspect of mass empowerment: breaking Microsoft's stranglehold on the marketplace. I syggest we focus on the Mac, but try to keep the design free of Mac-only elements (eg: Apple events, XCMDs) unless similar functionality exists on other platforms. Once we have something to port, I suggest we implement a Linux version second, followed by other UNIX implementations. Leave Windows 'til last (if we must do it at all), I suspect it's the most difficult anyway. In the short time span I worked with Plus many years ago I found I had more trouble porting stacks from one Wintel box to another than I did porting from Mac to Wintel in the first place. << Actually, I've had second thoughts about the "followed by other UNIX implementations" part: UNIX gurus don't needed empowerment...or do they?
