1. If a clear winner does not emerge from this first
voting round, then I suggest that we eliminate the
alternatives that are the least chosen. Several rounds
later we will have the only the cream of the crop
leftover.
2. Some of the names in the list could be used as a
name of our organization rather than the name of our
software. We might want to vote on the name of our
organization after we have completed the voting on the
name of our software.
3. Then we will have to find a way to finance the
registration of the trademark(s) on these names, if
the group deems it necessary to trademark our names.
It would dreadful to lose the name to some other group
once we have discovered the ideal name(s) for
ourselves.
4. While I applaud the spirit of initiative that led
to this mail-based voting process, I nonetheless
believe that a web-based one will be better.
Multiple-choice or precentage of approval versus the
current either/or kind of proposition. Making sure
that no one votes twice within a given period.
Shortening these voting periods and having more of
them, thus transforming the voting process into a
polling process.
5. ... once we gets the kinks worked out that is.
HyperCard's ability to act as a CGI program when run
under MacOS 8.6 is still in doubt. I may have to
recode all of my CGIs in AppleScript instead. Writing
is on the wall where the old HyperCard is concerned, eh!
